If you have been here before, you will notice that things are a bit empty right now. Some server housecleaning led to the deletion of the database for the previous incarnation of The Kat’s Garden and with it, everything that used to be here. There is a bit of sadness that comes with the loss of a body of work, and it took me a bit of time to come to terms with that. There is also, however, a bit of excitement too. Since I started my blog early in my career, there were a few posts that no longer seem to resonate but I had left them up to document my journey. With the deletion of the database, however, it’s like a clean slate. I have the ability to pick up from where I am at right now.

What will this new version of my blog be about? I live and work on the Central Coast of California where the mild climate allows me to spend most days outside in the garden. During the pandemic, I discovered just how necessary having an outdoor space to relax in was. So this version is dedicated to all the ways we can enjoy our gardens and really get the most out of them 52 weeks a year.

Over the next few months I will be putting up new information and reworking some old content. In January I will start the 52 Weeks of Gardening series to offer helpful tips and information specifically timed for our Central Coast gardening climate. I hope you will join me at that time to kick of 2022 and get gardening!
